Getting started
First launch & setup
Choose a backend — Animatica Cloud or a local MMCP server — and connect.
On first launch a Welcome to Animatica banner appears at the top of the Settings card. You choose how motion is generated.
#Cloud
Switch the backend to Cloud (api.animatica.ai), enter your email and password, and click Log In. Don't have an account? Create one at animatica.ai. Your tier is shown next to the login button once connected.
#Local
Switch the backend to Local, set your Server URL (default
http://localhost:8000), start your MMCP server, and click Test to confirm
the connection.
Dismiss the banner once you've picked a backend — it won't reappear. The header
status pill on the Settings card tells you the live state at a glance:
idle → logged in → local online → cloud online.
Tip — In Settings → Interface, enable Open Animatica on MotionBuilder startup so the tool auto-opens each time MoBu finishes loading.
